MARINE & FISHING VESSELS
Engraved labels for fishing vessels and wheelhouses
Keeping crews safe, clear and inspection-ready. We make bespoke, weather-resistant labels and control fascias for skippers, vessel owners and marine engineers.
Typical vessel labels
- Wheelhouse switches, alarms and navigation controls
- Emergency stops, battery isolators and shutdown controls
- Bilge, ballast, fuel and freshwater pumps
- Valves, sea cocks, vents and pipework identification
- Winch, hydraulic and deck-machinery controls
- Fire, lifesaving and emergency-equipment locations
- Engine-room controls and operating notices
How to order
- Send clear photographs or a sketch of the control area.
- List the exact wording, dimensions, hole sizes and positions.
- Choose 1.6 mm for a supported overlay or 3.6 mm for a more substantial panel.
- Review the full-size proof before production.
Existing plates can be recreated, or we can help arrange new wording from an MCA defect list or your surveyor's instructions.
Preparing for an MCA inspection
MCA inspection guidance covers areas including the wheelhouse, engine room, equipment tests, vessel operations and drills. Clear identification can help controls and safety equipment be understood quickly, but labels alone do not prove compliance. The skipper or owner remains responsible for confirming the required wording, equipment, positioning and any approval needed for vessel modifications.
Use the current GOV.UK fishing-vessel inspection checklist and safety guidance, and follow any vessel-specific instructions from your MCA surveyor or inspector.
